Services

I mix flexibility and structure into my sessions. There is no right or wrong way in these sessions. I will give you prompts and guidelines, but feel free to do what feels safe for you and your body. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will be happy to answer them during the sessions or via email.

I trust in your capacity to know your limits, but also that you are capable of feel your emotions and doing the work. I trust, hope, believe and know that you will get better. I know that you will experience healing in this life and in the life to come.

I bring Christ centered awareness into all these sessions, please know that I respect your religious and spiritual beliefs. Some people are spiritual and not religious and that is also welcome here! I deeply respect the Universe, God, curiosities, explorations, unknowns, different opinions/experiences and much more.

I also respect your freedom and I don’t bring in my political views to sessions. I acknowledge that each individual has their own life path and I also acknowledge Divine Truths that Christ has taught. This is a judgement free zone where I don’t see myself as better or less than you.

We are equals before Christ. I’m not perfect. I have had my own share of hardship, sadness, mistakes, self-sabotage, and sins. I truly believe that we are all trying out best, even if it doesn’t look like it. It’s not my job to judge you, I’m trying my best “to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places…”

Art Therapy

Engage in a therapeutic art session designed to tap into your creativity and unlock hidden insights. Using various artistic expressions, we'll explore your thoughts and emotions in a non-verbal and expressive way. Discover the power of visual communication and gain new perspectives on your journey toward self-discovery.

“Art therapy is a mental health profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship.

Art therapy, facilitated by a professional art therapist, effectively supports personal and relational treatment goals as well as community concerns. Art therapy is used to improve cognitive and sensorimotor functions, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, reduce and resolve conflicts and distress, and advance societal and ecological change.”https://arttherapy.org/about-art-therapy/

No artistic talent, nor fancy art materials required. Use the materials around your house.

Any of these are great: Colored pencils, paint, markers, crayons, water colors, magazines, tape, paper, scissors, brushes, water, paint pallet, pencil sharpener, paper towels, model magic, pens. I promise to not judge your art! I still draw stick figures too. But if you are a trained artist that is also welcome! These sessions could help you approach your art-making in a new way.

Example: Start by just being curious and open to the process of experimenting and exploring. It is about the process, not the product.

Take out a piece of paper and a pencil/pen and start scribbling for 5 seconds. Breathing and being mindful of how your arm is moving, how your tool interacts with the paper. What emotions come up? Was it fast or slow scribbling?

Next, take markers/colored pencils/crayons and start looking for shaped that you happened to create while scribbling and color in those space/shapes. Do you see any animals in the scribbles? Do you see a kite? A cloud? A different interesting shape? Can you turn it into something?

Do this process for a few minutes while being mindful of your thoughts and any judgments or emotions. Why do you feel the need to judge yourself? Can you allow yourself to just create for the sake of creating? Can it just be a fun experiment? Was is fun to look for shapes? Was it enjoyable to play with art materials again?

That’s one example of an art therapy prompt.

Somatic Mindfulness Therapy

Embark on a session focused on embodiment, combining movement, breathwork, and mindfulness practices. This holistic approach allows you to reconnect with your body, release tension, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness. Experience the profound connection between mind and body in a session dedicated to holistic well-being.

“Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention to the present. This state is described as observing one’s thoughts and feelings without judging them as good or bad. Mindfulness is rooted in Buddhist and Hindu teachings. Buddhism includes a journey toward enlightenment, and the concept of “sati,”—which encompasses attention, awareness, and being present—is considered the first step toward enlightenment. The term was roughly translated from the ancient language Pali into the term “mindfulness.” https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/mindfulness

“EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping is also called psychological acupressure and comes from ancient Chinese medicine and modern psychology. This technique helps restore energy balance after it’s been disrupted. It involves tapping on areas of the body that reduce physical and emotional pain while balancing energy.”

This focused approach allows us to address specific emotional challenges, release energy blockages, and promote emotional well-being. Once again, no experience necessary, I’ll guide you through it. It’s not about completely emptying your mind, it just trying to kindly observe and not over identify with your thoughts, sensations, or emotions. We will utilize a combination of these modalities to best serve you.
